Indonesian Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy (IOSSMA) is part of the Indonesian Orthopaedic Association (Persatuan Ahli Bedah Orthopaedi Indonesia – PABOI)
It began with deep concern among several Indonesian orthopedic surgeons to develop orthopedic sports science to meet the need of the Indonesian population of excellent and world standards sports injuries treatment. Dr. Andri Lubis, Dr. Bobby Nelwan Dr. Sapto Adji, Dr. Lia Marliana, Dr. IGM Febry Siswanto, and Dr. Yanuarso met several times before decided to organize the first meeting of Indonesian Orthopaedics with a special interest in sports medicine at Harris Hotel Jakarta, On September 1, 2012, resulted in the forming of IOSSMA.
The meeting was attended by dr. Dohar A. Tobing, SpOT as chairman of PABOI, and 50 members of IOSSMA.
At the time IOSSMA choose Dr. dr. Andri M.T Lubis, SpOT(K) as President of IOSSMA.
